Nimbus’ student-run music company, Business Class Records (BCR), launches their BCR Live Sessions initiative today! The students at the label have been doing some amazing work. You can check out the first video from #BCRLive over at: www.businessclassrecords.com/videos/
We are also pleased to announce that our Music Business students and Business Class Records are launching The BCR Singles Project, a program to professional produce and release previously unreleased singles from BCR artists.
The digital or physical single has the option of release through Universal Music Canada. Singles will be recorded at Nimbus by Advanced Music Production students under the supervision of industry professionals.
The first single will be with Jessicka, an artist BCR has been working closely with for some time. Jessicka’s song “Broke & Drunk” was one of 11 songs mentioned in CBC’s “Early Searchlight Standouts 2015”!

Jessicka is a Vancouver-based artist. She started off playing in the indie duo Witch Water, as the lead keyboardist, as well as singer/songwriter in the band. In 2011, Jessicka began playing piano, glockenspiel and singing backing vocals for Hunting. This year, she is joining “Gentle Voices” as a vocalist as well as working towards her first official release of solo material.
A member of BCR, Kayley, heard Jessicka’s music through instructor Jenn Barker, and was blown away by her talent. Kayley has been an advocate for Jessicka at BCR ever since, and the entire team at the label is thrilled to be working with such an impressive artist.
